Precision's Recommendations for a Thrilling, Chilling Halloween Celebration
At Precision Roof Crafters, we know of few things that give you a thrill, sometimes a chill, and every now and then, a breath-catching gasp like climbing on top of a roof. Second to those feelings is the Halloween season! We love a good scare, on or off a rooftop! Here are some our recommendations for family-friendly, spooky and kooky fun!
Haunted House - National Museum of Funeral History 415 Barren Springs
What better place to get into the Halloween spirit than a museum that celebrates death and funeral rites? This museum offers a family-friendly haunted house, where you can explore the town of Dreadford Falls after a local nuclear power plant has melted down. Although it gets "glowing reviews" (get it?) this Haunted House is rated PG-13 and is recommended for children ages 12 and up. Children under 12 are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult. Admission to the haunted house if half price when you purchase admission to the museum!
Haunted Hollywood Trick or Treating at Putt-Putt FunHouse - 806 East Nasa
Families can follow the walk of fame around the park to collect candy. While you're there, fill out the trivia sheet correctly for the chance to win an Xbox 1-S. The event is free with the purchase of any all-day pass and free for kids under the age of four. Feeling competitive? The robot-themed laser tag arena will be transformed into "Haunted Zombie Laser Tag." Candy, X-Box, AND Zombies? Count us in!
The Boo!Chata Halloween Celebration at Midtown Park - 2811 Travis
Midtown Park will be hosting a free Halloween celebration, October 31st from 5:30 to 9:20 p.m., (9:20? That's weirdly specific) featuring music from Ill-Set Dee-J & A Sure Thing, a variety of food trucks, vendors, complimentary beer and wine sampling, face painting, dance performers, raffle prizes and a photo booth. Costumes are encouraged.
Boo on the Boardwalk at Kemah Boardwalk - 215 Kipp
Kemah Boardwalk's free Halloween event includes lots of family fun, including creepy crafts, trick-or-treating, costume contests, special performances and plenty of ghoulish fun on Freaky Fridays, Spooky Saturdays and Scary Sundays. Don't miss the Little Boo Haunted Fun House and the Dungeon of Doom Haunted House. Check their schedule for what's going on weekends thru Halloween night.
Halloween Monster Mayhem at the Children's Museum of Houston - 1500 Binz
We just couldn't resist the description of "goblins, goodies and goo"! Slime-filled fun abounds at the Children's Museum, along with mystery, magic and spine-tingling experiments! The event blasts into overdrive with funky tunes at the spooktacular Halloween Monster Mash Bash on October 31 where the fun lasts until 8 p.m.
To be honest, we've just barely scratched the jack-o-lantern of Houston's Halloween haunts! Keep it local, make it educational if you like, but mostly stay safe and have fun. And TAKE PICTURES!!!
From all of us at Precision Roof Crafters, Happy Halloween!
